Academic Curriculum for 2009/2010

The documents below comprise the Japhet School curriculum "at a glance" for this school year. They give a one-page view of the entire year on a grid format. Each classroom and special subject has its own grid.

Japhet School's curriculum is under constant review. In 2008/2009, the Math and Science curricula were updated and launched. For 2009/2010, our students are benefiting from an updated Global/Social Studies and Language Arts curricula, which includes the launch of Writer's Workshop. Special subjects are under review this year. As each subject undergoes review, it is written to be in alignment with Michigan and national benchmarks.

The full curriculum -- a lengthy document that specifies learning objectives, vocabulary, and more for each unit -- is housed within the school and is available for perusal by parents upon request.
